March 2025 Newsletter Grade 1-6

Magnified VBS Summer Camp: July 14 - 18, 2025

Registration for our gospel centered summer camp for kids (who finish grade 1 - 6 by June) will be open March 1st!

We hope to encourage all kids and parents to use this camp to invite non-church kids to join in to hear the good news of Jesus Christ. To help your invitations to be even more attractive, when you invite a non-church child and they attend, your child and their non-church friend can receive a $50 discount off the registration fee.

Your kids have been given paper invitations to give to their friends. If you would like more, please ask us on Sunday.

VBS Volunteering

Be a part of our exciting team this summer! We are looking for people to help share the gospel through worship, games, crafts, Bible study and relationship building. We need help also in decorating and connecting with new families. There's lots of places to serve!
The harvest is plenty and the workers are few... will you join the calling to serve this summer? If you have any questions, please contact Claire at [email protected]. If you would like to sign up click here for the form.
In the meantime, please pray for our VBS camp. Thank you!

9:30 Sunday School & 11:15am Junior Worship

People may wonder what is the difference between "1st hour" and "2nd hour" children ministries - What is the difference between Sunday School and Worship? Does it matter which one my child goes to? Should we go to both?
Every so often we would like to answer these questions for those who are new but also for those who have been coming to our church regularly.

  1. Sunday School (9:30am) is focused on Bible learning. In our classes, we teach kids how to use their Bible and glean from God's truth found there. Each month, we have a specific Bible virtue that the lessons are centered around. For example, last month was all about Uniqueness and how God, our Creator, has made people for a purpose. Kids will learn both in a large group setting but will also belong to small group of 8-9 kids with a faithful adult teacher. In this way, children will have more time to converse with friends and have a more personal touch with a teacher in a small group.

  2. Transition Time (10:45am - 11:15am) We have around 30 minutes of free time for kids who stay for Sunday School and Junior Worship. For kids in grade 1 - 4, it's a great time for kids to talk and play games with other kids as they wait for Junior Worship to start in room 211. Grade 5 - 6 kids go to the chapel and talk with their friends as they wait for the English service to start. We think this time has greatly helped kids connect and enjoy their church community.

  3. Junior Worship (11:15am) is modelled around the adult worship services. At this time, the kids in grade 5 and 6 will sing and pray in the teens and adults in the English Congregation. Then they will go off to room 105 for their learning based on discipleship. The grade 1 - 4 kids will be together to have their own worship service in room 211, where they get a chance to serve, sing worship to God, have offering and pray. The grade 1-2 and grade 3-4 will split off into their own groups afterwards to do more Bible learning. It's a big group atmosphere.

We highly recommend kids to come for BOTH Sunday School and Junior Worship. Kids will benefit from both styles of learning and will have a chance to solidify friendships with their peers. The more face time with one another the better! Kids will then experience concentrated Bible learning and participating in worship.
If you can only attend one of the sections, that's okay too. Now you know about the differences and similarities of our 2 ministry arms that happen on Sundays.

We are here to support you as you grow your children up in the Lord.
God bless,
Crystal Sun on behalf of the Children's Ministries
