Twelve days after her son’s wedding, Shirley Thiessen was thrown into the unimaginable task of planning his funeral. Grief threatened to extinguish her purpose and keep her stuck in pain. With the loving support of caring friends, Shirley chose to participate with God to recycle her pain for His good purpose. Shirley is an international speaker, author of The Little Black Funeral Dress and co-founder of a grief ministry, CornerBend. With her husband, Carey, they have a married daughter, Chantel, who lives in Calgary and a son, Jordan, who lives in Heaven.
