Day 5: VBS Day #3

First off, this post is going to be kinda epic. So have a seat and start scrolling down :)Day 3 of the VBS camp started off with some heavy rain! As they waited to get into the hall we handed them back their apron from their craft station!

Seeing if the kids remember who we were!

Prayer time...

Skits from the teens...

Today's theme is "Believe fully in Jesus."

As we were preparing our game station under the tarp, the rain was pouring more and more...

We played a water game with the "Big Bird" baster... It was hard to explain Turkey, so I say "Where we come from we have these Big Birds... that we eat once or twice a year..."

The kids love the color drop we put into the water...

Pastor Kenny missed being hugged during lunch...

In the craft station Grace put up the kid's footprints with the helpers!

Robyn had to try some buckwheat... I thought it was pretty tasty!!

After lunch and free time the kids raced from the tarp to the hall through the rain!

Crystal than lead the bible bite (memory verse) with the water glasses.

The older kids played a more competitive version of our game in the afternoon.

Lillian led the wrap up as she told the gospel story...

... and then gave an altar call, many hands were raised! Praise the Lord!

After the wrap up the SUN CAME OUT!!! And we took the kids out to the field for a group game!

Even the helpers wanted to play!

Battle of the Rock Paper Scissor!!!

The team maning the corners!

It was an epic battle with the 2 teams tied to the very end until the inevitable tie breaker!

After the group game we had some free time...

We also had a special presentation for Ivan as it is his birthday!!!

We all gathered around him and celebrated the occasion with all the kids!

Pastor Kenny represented our team and gave him set of sandals (from our craft station) signed by all of us :)

Snack time!

And no its not cola...

... But that didn't stop Pastor Kenny from asking Anette from getting him some from the store... We told her he's kidding... eerr... but he really does want some...

Josef! One of the many super helpful kid at HOM!

We handed out the kid's decorated sandals before they left...

Before dinner (which you will WANT to see in a moment) we took some photos with the kids... Sasha and Artyom... These 2 are buddies for life!!!

Dinner was special today because...

We were celebrating 4 Birthdays!!!

Yes that's Chicken Wings! Ukraine style!! I had so much... it was a bit embarrassing...

Add some expresso....

... and several types of cakes...

And end off with some fresh picked mushrooms, sauteed with onions. This was a massive hit with everyone there, everyone loved this dish.

Timothy! Vasya's youngest.

Masha!

Remember from yesterday... it is "I LOVE YOU"...

We then had a chance to visit some of the kid's room upstair! So tiddy and nice! This room has 4 bunk beds (8 kids), all boys. Including Pastor Kenny who is playing with little Vasya's toys.

Josef showed us his Bible, with many bookmarks in it.

Pastor Kenny was also able to carry little Sashka tonite! What a cutie, yes Sashka too!

But the night wasn't over as the Discovery team prep for the next day! Cutting up many apples!!
