Questions for thought & Discussion

1. Why do you think God calls his directives for living “commandments” and not “suggestions”? How do you feel about that?!

2. Both Jesus and John infer that God’s commands or ways are not a burden but rather light and free. Has this been your experience? Why or why not?

3. We are taught in the scriptures that the Holy Spirit who lives in us equips us to live for the lord. how do you know that you are keeping in step with the spirit of God?

This week’s application activity

– Think of the 10 commandments (Deuteronomy 5 and Exodus 20).
– Think about the opposite of these commandments.
– How is our world influenced when God’s ways are ignored?
– How is our own life influenced when we ignore god’s ways?

Remember:

Trusting God and obeying His commandments are always for our own good!
