Frantic Promo Prep

This week is our team's frantic preparation for our presentation to the Cantonese / English / Mandarin congregation. We are also in the mist of setting up the display for the foyer as well as inserts for the various bulletins. Look for us this coming Sunday service in the English and Mandarin service (April 26th) and in the Cantonese service on May 3rd.

Go. Awareness.

Working on a series of posters to raise awareness for Mission + Ukraine. One of the my main goal from Promo/PR perspective is to develop ways to relate and retain the Mission trip (or Mission in general) in the congregation's minds + prayers. Not just on Sunday, but every day.go_calls_you_sm

PTL!

God has provided a full prayer team for me...and more! Praise the Lord! I am definitely feeling "not together" with regards to the preparation before us (a prayer request!). But I know that having our needs brought before the Lord is the best way for these needs to be provided for. So again, Praise God!

Our Group Devotional Study

As a team we wanted to keep each other spiritually accountable and unified in God's word so we've decided to follow a book; "Philippians: Run the Race", as our group devotional study. Our books should arrive this coming week! Here's a short blurb on the book:

Life as a follower of Christ is not a fifty-yard dash. It's a marathon.

God offers strength for the race, cold water to quench our thirst, and fresh legs when we grow weary. We never run alone. He is always right beside us cheering us on or ahead of us leading the way. Do you need energy and refreshment for the race of life? In Philippians, find all you need to run with strength and confidence. If you desire joy beyond measure, perseverance, a servant's heart, hope for the future, a peace beyond understanding, and lasting contentment, look no further than Philippians. This study includes six sessions ideal for group or individual study.

Who is the House of Mercy?

House of Mercy was founded in 2001 with the help of a Norwegian Christian organization called KPK-UKRAINA. At the beginning, their ministry was working with sick and disabled children, but by September 2003 House of Mercy directed their focus to street children and orphans in the Zakarpatye Region of Ukraine. Their ministry grew from feeding the children, to taking the children off the streets (and into their own homes) and providing them with education & care. By the blessing of God and through the Norwegian church's support, a large building came into their possession and in September 2005 it became home that can take up to 22 homeless children and orphans.
