Glory Counsellor with her dog Poppy

Wow you’re a Glory/Shine/Jireh counselor!  How did this happen?!

I've been teaching Children's Sunday school for so many years and was feeling tired, so, I had taken a break from teaching but in the past year I felt God tugging my heart to come back to teaching but in a different capacity. I have always loved working with youth especially within my career, so I felt drawn to serving the junior high youth in our church.

What do you love about serving in youth ministry so far?  Do you have a vision?

I love being able to share the challenges that I have had as a young person, and use that to encourage the youth within Glory. I love that I can be a supportive presence for these youth because Junior high is a difficult time. My vision or my hopes is that, despite the pandemic, as time goes on, the youth can see us counsellors, most importantly, their fellowship, as a place of safety. A place they can feel safe exploring their faith.

What is it like serving with your teammates and Adriel?

In a way it feels like family, well Adriel is family but in this short time span of serving with this team, I have the assurance that I can lean on this group of people. It's lovely knowing that people have your back and are willing to pray with you.

What was the last book you read? or show/movie you streamed/watched?

The last book I read is called The Deep by Nick Cutter. I'm currently obsessed with horror novels. I'm currently reading Radical: Taking back your Faith from the American Dream by David Platt.

What’s an interesting factoid/fun fact about you?

I love collecting framed insects!
